Bamboos are some of the fastest growing plants in the world, and giant bamboo are the largest members of the grass family. Across Asia, bamboo is used for building material, as a food source and as a versatile raw product in an increasing number of eco-friendly homes. In Hong Kong, it is made into scaffolding that can be seen reaching up the the sides of enormous skyscrapers – a breathtaking sight that is unique to this area of the world.
